BITMAP
MONOGRAM
While exploring text through a modular, geometric lens. I created a monogram using the letters A, M, and B, focusing on symmetry, repetition, and contrast. I decided on making my design all capital letters, as i felt a lowercase a is hard to work with outwith stair stepping. I was inspired by early slab serif typefaces, Art Nouveau and the rigid structure of brutalist architecture. Each letter shares a visual rhythm, built from consistent vertical stems and slab-like serifs, giving the piece a structured but experimental feel. I lined up my s=cross bars to create constsicantly and when remaking the piece i did what felt opitally more appealin and less non-uniform.
